Our Services
Comprehensive
Eye Exams
The classic eye exam process for determining eye health and your current prescription. We recommend most adults get one of these at least every 2 years. Our top-of-the-line equipment can reliably detect cataracts, glaucoma, and more before they become severe problems down the line.
Contact Lens
Exams
Whether you’ve already got contact lens experience or are just starting out, our contact lens exams ensure your new lenses are comfortable, your prescription is accurate, and they fit without issue.
Lasik
LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis and permanently alters the shape of your cornea to improve vision. It’s an outpatient surgical procedure, meaning you can have it completed and be home the same day. It corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism and is an excellent option for anyone not wanting to rely on glasses or contact lenses.
Pediatric Eye Care
When it comes to children’s eye exams, the earlier, the better. Staying ahead of your child’s eye development is crucial because their formative years are the best time to course-correct any irregularities. Schedule a pediatric eye exam if your child has never had an eye exam or is experiencing any of the following vision-related symptoms: •Headaches •Eye rubbing •Covering one eye when trying to focus •Squinting •Excessive blinking
Kentucky Kindergarten School Eye Exams
We perform Kentucky Kindergarten School eye exams. According to Kentucky law, “All children 3, 4, 5, or 6 years of age entering public preschool, Head Start, or public school for the first time to have an eye examination by an optometrist or ophthalmologist no later than January 1 of the school year.” The main focus of this law is to detect strabismus and amblyopia, common eye conditions affecting 3-5% of all children. If caught early, they can be reversed.
Geriatric Eye Care
We recommend seniors 65 and older have a comprehensive eye exam every year. Beyond 65, eye tissue and structure change much more quickly, so prioritizing eye health becomes even more important.
Primary Care
Scheduling eye exams ahead of time can help maintain good eye health and ensure early detection of common eye ailments and diseases. Give us a call for your next eye exam. Keep your eyes healthy and your prescription current. Walk-ins welcome!
Dry Eye Treatments
Dry eye can cause all kinds of visual impairment and discomfort. Luckily, we offer dry eye consultations, providing the personalized treatment you need to alleviate your symptoms.
Eye Emergencies
If you’ve suffered an eye injury or a sudden vision change, call our office or walk in as soon as possible for an emergency visit. We commonly treat pink or red eye but can help with other urgent eye care needs.
Eye Disease Evaluations
Dr. Joe Terry and Associates, Inc.'s state-of-the-art eye equipment can detect and help diagnose various eye diseases. Cataracts •Cataracts are highly prevalent among older adults. A cataract occurs when the eye’s lens becomes clouded, usually resulting in blurry, foggy, or dulled color vision. Symptoms can be difficult to detect by yourself, so frequent comprehensive eye exams with your eye doctor are the best way to identify warning signs before they become more severe. Glaucoma •Another common eye disease among older adults, glaucoma occurs when pressure inside your eye damages the optic nerve. Usually, patients don’t notice symptoms until the disease develops enough to damage peripheral vision, so having a comprehensive eye exam is essential for early detection, prevention, and potential treatment.
