Our Services

Comprehensive
Eye Exams

Eye examinations are an important step in caring for your overall health by checking your visual acuity and looking for early signs of eye disease. All adults should get an exam at least once every two years if they don’t have vision problems or annually if they wear glasses or contact lenses. Anyone with a family history of eye disease (cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration) should also get eye exams every year.

Contact Lens
Exams

Dr. Chessario’s Practice specializes in helping patients find the best contact lenses. Dr. Chessario starts with a comprehensive exam to check your vision and decide the type of contact lenses that will fit your needs. For patients who are getting their first contact lenses and those who have used them before, Dr. Chessario focuses on a comfortable fit that gives you clear vision.

Pediatric Eye Care

Before children can fully communicate, it’s important to look for signs of vision problems, such as excessive blinking, rubbing their eyes excessively, squinting, frequent headaches, and covering their eyes to help them focus. To ensure your child’s visual health is developing properly, schedule their first eye exam when they are six months old. If there are no problems, you should schedule another exam when your child is two or three, plus regular eye exams to check their vision when they are in school.

Primary Care

When you go to your dentist and primary care doctor every year to maintain your overall health, you should also schedule annual eye exams to check your ocular health. Even if you have perfect vision, an annual eye exam checks for subtle changes over time that may lead to an early eye disease diagnosis. With many eye diseases, like cataracts and glaucoma, there are no symptoms before vision loss, so early diagnosis may help prevent permanent vision loss.

Dry Eye
Treatments

If you suffer from chronic dry eyes, you may also experience red and irritated eyes, eyes that itch or burn, blurry vision, as well as eye fatigue. There are many treatments for dry eyes, so Dr. Chessario performs an eye exam to help him determine the cause and allows him to create a custom plan for treatment.

Geriatric
Eye Care

Like the rest of your body, the eyes tend to develop more problems with age. However, regular eye examinations for patients over 65 can detect signs of eye disease early, which expands your treatment options and decreases your chances of permanent vision loss. Dr. Chessario specializes in the early diagnosis of several age-related eye diseases, including retinopathy, cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.

Cataracts

As part of the natural aging process, cataracts often develop in the eyes and cloud the lens. At Dr. Chessario’s Practice, adults over 40 are encouraged to get regular eye exams to look for early signs of cataracts. A treatment plan can be created based on the type and location of the cataracts.

Glaucoma

Without routine eye exams, glaucoma can silently develop without symptoms until you experience vision loss. Glaucoma creates pressure inside the eye and can cause irreversible blindness if not diagnosed and treated quickly. At Dr. Chessario’s Practice, we encourage all adults, especially those over 65, to get an annual eye exam to check for early signs of glaucoma so it can be treated before vision loss starts.
