Our Services

Comprehensive
Eye Exams

For adults with vision problems, Dr. Tasler’s Practice recommends scheduling a comprehensive eye examination at least once a year. Adults who don’t need glasses or contacts to correct their vision should schedule an eye exam once every two years. During an eye exam, Dr. Tasler will check for early signs of eye disease (cataracts, glaucoma, and more) and assess visual acuity. Dr. Tasler discusses the results of each patient’s exam and makes recommendations for improved eye health.

Contact Lens
Exams

Dr. Tasler offers contact lens exams for both patients who want to try contact lenses for the first time and those who have been using them regularly for a while. During the exam, Dr. Tasler will check the patient’s visual acuity and eye health to determine the best brand, modality, and type of contact lens to provide clear vision and a comfortable fit. Dr. Tasler’s Practice offers same-day contacts so most patients can test their new lenses immediately.

Pediatric Eye Care

There are many important milestones in childhood, including visual development. Dr. Tasler offers pediatric care for patients starting at six months old to assess early eye health. Follow-up exams are recommended around 2-3 years of age. School-age children should also have their eyes checked often for vision problems, which may make it more challenging to learn.

Geriatric
Eye Care

Dr. Tasler’s Practice focuses on eye care for all ages, especially adults over 65 who are at higher risk for developing eye disease. Many eye diseases don’t have symptoms until vision loss occurs, but regular eye exams can detect early signs and offer treatments. Dr. Tasler’s Practice uses an OCT retinal scanner, which checks the layers of the retina for signs of glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and diabetic eye disease.

Primary Care

Every adult should schedule regular eye exams with an optometrist. In addition to checking for early signs of eye disease and vision problems, an optometrist will know your history in an eye emergency (pink eye, foreign object in the eye, scratched lens, etc.). Schedule regular eye exams for every member of your family.

Dry Eye
Treatment

Many adults suffer from chronic dry eye, a condition where the tear glands don’t produce enough moisture. This can lead to discomfort and visual problems. Dr. Tasler’s Practice offers comprehensive eye exams to determine the cause of each patient’s dry eye and a personalized treatment plan.

Cateracts

Cataracts cloud the eye lens and may lead to vision loss without treatment. For adults over 40, especially those with a family history of eye disease, it’s important to get regular eye exams to check for early signs of cataracts. During eye exams, Dr. Tasler checks patients for signs of cataracts so treatments can be offered before vision is affected.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is an eye disease that commonly appears in adults over 40. Creating pressure inside the eye, most people don’t know they have glaucoma until they have permanent vision loss. At Dr. Tasler’s Practice, eye exams may include using an optical coherence tomography (OCT) scanner to check the retina for early signs of glaucoma. A non-invasive exam, the OCT scan, helps Dr. Tasler better see the layers of the retina and track small changes over time for an earlier diagnosis and more treatment options.
