Our Services

Comprehensive
Eye Exams

Dr. Kover’s Practice recommends that all adults (even those without vision problems or a family history of eye disease) schedule an eye examination every two years. Using advanced diagnostic equipment, Dr. Kover can detect eye diseases in the early stages, often before vision problems or symptoms. Anyone with a family history of eye disease (such as cataracts and glaucoma) or who needs vision correction (glasses or contacts) should schedule an eye exam once or twice a year.

Contact Lens
Exams

Contact lenses can be a great option to correct your vision if you’re tired of wearing glasses. For patients who are new to contact lenses and those who are already comfortable wearing contacts, Dr. Kover’s Practice offers contact lens exams. During the examination, Dr. Kover will check your vision to determine your prescription and the most comfortable brand, modality, and type of contact lens. For new contact lens wearers, Dr. Kover will discuss how to take your new lenses in and out as well as care instructions.

LASIK

LASIK, a laser eye surgery, can improve refractive vision problems, like farsightedness (hyperopia), nearsightedness (myopia), and astigmatism so patients can see clearly without contact lenses or glasses. During an eye exam, Dr. Kover can assess if a patient is a good candidate for LASIK.

Primary Care

For healthy vision, it’s important to schedule regular visits with an optometrist like Dr. Kover. In addition to checking for eye diseases and vision problems, Dr. Kover’s Practice can help with eye emergencies and make recommendations to help your family’s eye health. Be proactive and schedule regular eye exams for every member of your family.

Eye Emergencies

If your eyes are red or you have symptoms of pink eye, contact Dr. Kover’s Practice immediately for an appointment. Pink eye can occur in one or both eyes and may cause excessive tearing, a gritty feeling, itchiness, a crusty discharge, and light sensitivity. Red eyes may be a symptom of a foreign object stuck in the eye, an infection, or another problem that needs to be treated right away.

Cataracts

Dr. Kover’s Practice focuses on diagnosing eye diseases like cataracts before your vision is affected. More common in those over 40 years old, cataracts can cause blurry vision and eventually, permanent vision loss. During comprehensive eye examinations, Dr. Kover checks patients for early signs of cataracts.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is another common eye disease in patients over 40 that causes pressure in the eye. Regular eye exams with Dr. Kover allow him to track small changes over time, which helps with early diagnosis of glaucoma. Without regular eye exams, many people don’t know they have glaucoma, commonly known as the “silent thief of sight” until they have vision loss. Early diagnosis can treat glaucoma before symptoms appear and preserve the patient’s vision.
