Services

Comprehensive
Eye Exams

A comprehensive eye exam at Dr. De Young’s Practice can check your vision and looks for early signs of eye disease. For adults who have a family history of eye disease and those who need vision correction (glasses or contact lenses), Dr. Kirk De Young recommends scheduling an eye exam at least once every year. For adults who don’t need vision correction, an eye exam should be scheduled once every two years. Regular eye exams can help detect early signs of eye disease, like cataracts and glaucoma, before vision loss starts.

Contact Lens Exams

There are many reasons that people want to use contact lenses to correct their vision instead of glasses. At Dr. De Young’s Practice in Rib Mountain, patients receive a thorough contact lens exam to help determine the right prescription, modality, type, and brand of contact lens to give each patient a comfortable fit and clear vision. For patients who are trying contact lenses for the first time, Dr. De Young and his staff will explain how to care for contact lenses and give tips on how to put the lenses in and take them out.

Primary Care

Every family should visit an optometrist regularly as part of their overall wellness checks. In addition to a vision evaluation, Dr. De Young’s Practice screens for eye disease so problems can be caught and treated early. It’s also helpful to have an optometrist who knows your family’s medical history in the event of an eye emergency, like pink eye or a scratched cornea.
