Dr. Kirk De Young graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry, and he has been practicing for over 14 years. Dr. De Young became interested in optometry when his father developed glaucoma, and he spent a lot time taking him to the optometrist. Dr. De Young specializes in finding the right glasses and contacts for his patients to give them clear vision.

For adults who have a family history of eye disease and those who need vision correction (glasses or contact lenses), Dr. Kirk De Young recommends scheduling an eye exam at least once every year. For adults who don’t need vision correction, an eye exam should be scheduled once every two years. Regular eye exams can help detect early signs of eye disease, like cataracts and glaucoma, before vision loss starts.
Contact Lens Exams
There are many reasons that people want to use contact lenses to correct their vision instead of glasses.
