With offices across Georgia and South Carolina — including Augusta, Statesboro, Aiken and two Columbia locations — Martinez Eye Associates provides trusted vision care to families throughout the region.
Our practice combines decades of collective experience with advanced diagnostic technology, including retinal imaging (photography and OCT), Octopus and Zeiss visual field testing, corneal mapping topography and digital automated phoropters. This technology allows our doctors to evaluate ocular health with precision, detect issues early and deliver personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s lifestyle and needs.

Meet the Doctors
Dr. Abdul Daranijoh, O.D.
Dr. Abdul Daranijoh completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Indianapolis and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University in Bloomington. He founded Martinez Eye Associates in 2005 and continues to serve patients with dedication and expertise. He is married to Julia Daranijoh, and together they have three children. His interests include flipping houses, soccer and spending time with his family.
Dr. Emerson E. Brown, O.D.
Dr. Emerson Brown attended Central State University for his undergraduate education and earned his optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. He joined Martinez Eye Associates in 2006 and enjoys fishing in his free time.
Dr. Lewis Steinfeld, O.D.
Dr. Lewis Steinfeld completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami and earned his doctorate from the Southern College of Optometry. He joined the practice in 2017. He is married to Lynn Steinfeld, with two children and four grandchildren. His interests include weightlifting and audio equipment.
Dr. Harold J. Hoover, O.D.
Dr. Harold Hoover received his undergraduate degree from Augusta College and his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Alabama School of Optometry. He joined the practice in 2020. He is married to Lori Hoover, with two children and three granddaughters. He enjoys fishing, gardening, reading and singing in his church choir.
Dr. Basil N. Coombs, O.D.
Dr. Basil Coombs completed his undergraduate education at Florida Atlantic University and earned his optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry. He joined Martinez Eye Associates in 2022 and continues to serve patients with enthusiasm and care.
